ABOUT ME

After having piano lessons throughout my childhood and undertaking ABRSM grades up to grade 8, my passion for music led me to completing a Bachelors and Masters degree in Music from Newcastle University in 2012. I have taught music in some way ever since, and am currently a Lecturer in Keyboards and Song-Writing at undergraduate level at BIMM University in Bristol. Formerly I worked as a Tutor for Bristol Beacon for many years, teaching piano, guitar, ukulele and early years music in Bristol schools.

Alongside teaching piano, I have toured in Europe as a session keyboard player in a rock band and as pianist for a theatre company. I have worked as a session keys player for recording sessions, various gigs and festival performances. As well as playing classical piano, I love writing original music in bands. My latest band Slagheap, in which I play guitar and synth, released an LP on an indie label, toured the UK and has been played on BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music.

My newest endeavour in the past few years has been motherhood!

I am also currently studying on the PGCert Learning and Teaching (Professional Practice) at BIMM.
